All debit auto payments declined due to reverting to old expiration date

I’ve only got 2 payments set up with auto pay – Verizon and Charter. These were set up through their services, not through my bank.

This month all my auto pays were declined due to using an invalid expiration date. They were using the date from before I changed my name. I updated all payments in November to the new name and expiration date.

Everything was fine until this month. What happened?
