Past the 90 days for Gap insurance reimbursement

Basically I didn’t know I had only 90 days to get ahold of my Gap insurance, I totaled my car and my car insurance covered half.. I owe about 9 grand which my gap would’ve covered but I’m past the 90 days… how fucked am I?

  • Your only options is to plead with the gap coverage insurer. You might be able to convince them that it was an honest mistake and ask them to honor the contract as is even though you missed the deadline. They are under no obligation to do so.

Otherwise, you are on the hook for the other half now. Very expensive life lesson, I hope you learn from this.
